What happens after you send the query letter?

After you send the query letter, comes the hardest part of being a writer. You have to wait for a response.

It is generally a frustrating wait and you should try to distract your self and keep yourself busy. You will get rejected a few times. Accept this. Do not think that your book is not up to the mark because you have got rejected once or twice. Everyone’s book gets rejected. Just try again. Send the next letter to the next editor/agent.

Some times one gets rejected because the query letter you sent was not good enough. Some times even though the query letter is good enough, the agent/editor might feel that the book will not sell. If they feel that the content of your book might not produce sales, they will not be interested in your book.

In any case, the first step to getting published is writing a good query letter and NOT GIVING UP!
